Roma’s Turkish International Cengiz Under on Tottenham’s radar

Tottenham and Everton are set to fight it out for the signature of Roma’s Cengiz Under (h/t Daily Star)

The Turkish winger was a transfer target for Arsenal in the summer with Roma refusing to sell him.

Roma are forced to sell in order to buy in the January window and Under is one of the players likely to be sold. (h/t Daily Star)

Having joined the Italian giants in 2017,Under has made 66 appearances scoring 15 goals. He has however made only 10 appearances this season, with 6 of them coming off the bench. (h/t Whoscored)

Suffering from a hamstring injury, he has found himself behind Diego Perotti, Nicolo Zaniolo, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Justin Kuivert in the pecking order at Roma. (h/t Daily Star)

Valued between £30million to £35million, Under is the youngest Turkish player to have scored in the UEFA Champions League.

The loss of Harry Kane to injury has made Spurs heavily reliant on the likes of Lucas Moura and Son Heung-Min in the attack.

Giovani Lo Celso hasn’t impressed while Erik Lamela has just returned from injury and Ryan Sessegnon has been playing at left-back rather than further up-field.

Signing Under will add strength in depth to our attack and will provide Mourinho with more options off the bench.
