Three Tottenham stars doubtful for Newcastle United clash

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Newcastle United on Wednesday, manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that three players are doubtful for the game at St. James’ Park. (h/t Football.london)

The three players that are set to miss out are defender Serge Aurier and midfielders Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele.

Alli hasn’t featured in the last three matches, having picked up a hamstring injury in training. His last appearance came in the defeat to Sheffield United. And while, Mourinho claimed that the England international is closing on a return to training, he will not feature this midweek. (h/t Football.london)

Joining him on the sidelines is Ndombele, who also picked up an injury in training. The Frenchman has hardly been used by the Portuguese since the restart, so it will not be a huge blow as such. (h/t Football.london)

“Yesterday in training Ndombele injured. I don’t think he will be selected but we have another training session. Dele Alli maybe training with us in the afternoon but I don’t believe he will be available.”

Aurier, on the other hand, is fit. But after the tragic news of his brother’s death earlier this week, Mourinho insisted that the Ivory Coast international will be given time off if he needs to recover from the shocking incident. (h/t Football.london)

“Serge Aurier of course a big question mark in this moment. At the moment just myself and others in the club spoke to him just to support him in a tragic moment for him and his family. So we are going to respect 100% Serge’s decisions and no pressure from us.”

There is still a chance of us finishing in the Europa League spots. Hopefully, we build on our win against Arsenal and bag all three points against Newcastle.
