Inter Milan keen on signing Tanguy Ndombele

According to a report from Calciomercato (h/t Independent), Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan are interested in signing Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

The 23-year-old Ndombele joined Tottenham last summer from Olympique Lyon in a club-record transfer. But it’s fair to say that things have failed to work out for the Frenchman in North London.

While he made a promising start to life at Tottenham, injury and fitness issues meant he couldn’t build upon it. And once Jose Mourinho took over the reins from Mauricio Pochettino, things took a turn for the worse for Ndombele.

The France international failed to make an impression on the Portuguese, who criticised the midfielder in the media on multiple occasions. And when he did get the rare opportunity, Ndombele failed to make much of an impression.

Ndombele did not start a single game during the post-lockdown period, with injury ruling him out of the last few matches. Reports have claimed that the relationship between him and his manager is so strained that the midfielder has vowed never to play under Jose again.

Mourinho has insisted that none of it is true. But speculations linking him with an exit refuse to die down as Inter Milan now eye a move for the 23-year-old. (h/t Independent)

The report states that Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte is unhappy with Marcelo Brozovic. And he is keen on replacing the Croatian international with Ndombele, who he sees as the ideal fit into his team.

Reports earlier this month had claimed that Tottenham would be willing to do business with Inter, provided they let either Brozovic or Milan Skriniar join us in exchange.

Ndombele, who is reported to make £200,000-a-week at Tottenham, made 29 appearances in his debut season, scoring two goals and setting up four more.
