Jose Mourinho insists Tanguy Ndombele remains part of his plans

Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League game against Newcastle United, manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he has no problems with midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, with the Frenchman still a part of his plans at the club. (h/t Evening Standard)

Things have been rocky between the pair for quite some time now. Ndombele, having arrived at Tottenham in a club-record deal last summer, has struggled to make an impact. And Jose has been critical of the 23-year-old on multiple occasions and has shown reluctance to use him regularly.

Since the restart of the season last month, the midfielder has hardly featured for Tottenham. He is likely to be unavailable for the Newcastle game as well, due to an injury he picked up in training.

Given his lack of game time, speculations have been rife that Ndombele and Mourinho have fallen out and the midfielder could be set to leave in the summer. This has also sparked interest from some of the European bigwigs such as Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Mourinho, however, has insisted that there are no problems between him and Ndombele, claiming that the French international remains a part of his plans moving forward. (h/t Evening Standard)

“Every player is part of my plans. Everyone. I don’t give up on players. No player has a privilege. Every player is for me the same. No problem at all. Every player is part of my plans.”

Ndombele has had it tough in his first year in North London. Many players find it difficult in their first season in England coming in from abroad. In addition, injuries haven’t helped the 23-year-old’s cause obviously.

But there is immense potential there and it is important that the club hold onto him and not pull the trigger.
