Tottenham join Borussia Dortmund in the race for Florian Neuhaus
According to SPORT1 (h/t Jan Aage Fjortoft), Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, who is also a target for Borussia Dortmund.
Having risen through the youth ranks at Kaufering and 1860 Munich, Neuhaus made the switch to Gladbach in 2017. After a loan stint with Fortuna Dusseldorf, the 23-year-old became a regular at Borussia Park and has since grown into an integral member of the team.
Till date, the German midfielder has made 96 appearances, scoring 13 goals and setting up 18 more. Neuhaus has enjoyed a brilliant start to the 2020/21 campaign, bagging five goals and six assists from 25 matches in all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
A versatile box-to-box midfielder who excels at both attacking and defensive facets of the game, Neuhaus has been recently linked with a move to Bayern Munich. Now, it is being claimed that both Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign the 23-year-old. (h/t Jan Aage Fjortoft)
With Moussa Sissoko on the wrong side of the thirties, Tottenham need to bring in a new central midfielder to complement Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the long run. Neuhaus, given his age and exposure to top-level football, would be a fine piece of investment in the short as well as the long run.
The midfielder, who has been capped three times by the German national team, is said to have a €40m release clause. (SportBuzzer h/t Eurosport)
Re: Florian Neuhaus
The Gladbach-midfielder has been linked to Bayern for a while.
We learned last week that Dortmund want him too (remember Gladbach- Coach Rose favorite to be new coach there).
Now Tottenham and Mourinho also have him on their list.
