Son Heung-min finally has his say on Jose Mourinho losing the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room
Speaking in an interview (h/t Mirror) ahead of Spurs’ Europa League encounter tonight, Son Heung-min rubbished talks of Jose Mourinho losing the dressing room at Tottenham.
Spurs are not in their best form right now. In fact, their run of 4 losses from 5 games has seen a section of the club’s fanbase question their manager’s stay at the club.
Tottenham are now 9th in the league, which is something that the fans would not have envisioned when they briefly topped the Premier League table earlier this season.
And the South Korean striker was asked if the dressing room is turning sour amidst this poor run of form. Son rubbished these talks and labelled it a ‘bad rumour’.
“Everyone is focused in every single game so what should I say? It is a bad rumour.”
Just a bad rumour
The former Bayer Leverkusen man addressed the fact that it is natural for players to be in a mood after a defeat. But he mentions that the dressing room is cohesive and everyone is happy at the club.
“The mood went a little bit down when we had a couple of bad results but I think the changing room has not changed about these kind of things. Everyone is happy, everyone is having a laugh.”
This is certainly a relief for the fans. Individually, the South Korean has had a terrific season so far. Although he has just one goal in his last 7 games, the 28-year-old has racked up 17 goals in all competitions so far.
