Jose Mourinho delivers verdict on Tottenham’s top-four chances
According to Evening Standard, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho believes that his side can turn around their season to claim a top-four spot. He is hoping to start a winning run against West Ham in the league and refused to draw conclusions from the current standings in the league.
Mourinho criticized the scheduling of their fixtures in the league after a win over Wolfsberger in the Europa League round of 32. Spurs’ game against Aston Villa which got postponed could be scheduled ahead of their Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.
Their recent league run has been rather poor with 4 losses from 5 games and it isn’t likely to be a free pass against a resurgent West Ham side. However, they do have a favourable run of games after that with Crystal Palace and Burnley coming up. And, Mourinho was of the opinion that they can turn around their season quickly.
“It’s very complicated, so we have to fight and we have to wait until the last match to see what happens. Anything can happen. We can finish top-four, top-six or outside the top six. We have to make sure the best possible thing is going to happen.”
Mourinho could be set for some boosts with Harry Kane set to return from his ankle injury after opting out of the Europa League game. A surprising name has impressed in his stead. Gareth Bale assisted and scored one each in the win over Wolfsberger.

With the West Ham game approaching, Spurs are still set to be without the services of Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso. Dele Alli would also be hoping to continue his run of games. Spurs drew their reverse game 3-3 with West Ham earlier this season which saw Manuel Lanzini score a last-minute equalizer.
