Jose Mourinho likely to leave Tottenham by the start of next season after torrid form
A report by football.london mentions that there is a ‘growing belief within Tottenham Hotspur‘ that Jose Mourinho will be sacked by the start of next season.
This news comes after a poor draw against Everton on Saturday. A Harry Kane brace matched Gylfi Sigurdsson’s goal tally in the match as the scoreline stood at 2-2 after full time.
Spurs have had their season completely derailed after that defeat to Liverpool in January earlier this year. Since then, the club has lost 7 of their last 14 Premier League matches with a goal difference of just +1. (h/t football.london)
And that means a very tough chance for the Lilywhites to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. Spurs are currently 7th in the table, 5 points away from West Ham United in 4th.
Life without Jose
Earlier this weekend, journalist Duncan Castles claimed that Tottenham are preparing for life without Mourinho by working with two different transfer lists; one with Mourinho’s inputs and one without his feedback.
It seems that the writing is one the wall for the Portuguese gaffer. But he still has a chance to redeem this season in a week’s time.
Tottenham have the chance to win their first bit of silverware in 13 years when they go up against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final next weekend at Wembley.
If Mourinho does end up leaving, fans would be hoping that the former Real Madrid manager lands them that elusive trophy. If not, you could argue that it would further reduce his chances of staying at the club.

It remains to be seen what the club actually does with Mourinho. If he can retain his squad and add a few names in the summer, giving the world-class manager another year does not seem like the worst idea in the world.
