Transfer News: Tottenham set to rival Arsenal for Orkun Kokcu
According to transfer news from Sport Witness, Tottenham have joined Arsenal in the chase for Orkun Kokcu. The Feyenoord midfielder is one of the best emerging talents in Europe and has attracted the interest of both North London clubs.
The Turkish youngster has impressed during his stay in Holland and has become a vital part of the Feyenoord side. Kokcu was a part of the Groningen academy before linking up with Feyenoord. He spent a few years in the youth side before being handed his first-team debut in 2018.
The 20-year-old is a natural playmaker and usually prefers to play the number 10 role. He can also drop deeper to play as a central midfielder. Spurs are looking to add another midfielder given they usually play three in their starting XI. Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are the two first-choice players now and the third spot is still up for grabs.
It is understood that Spurs have kept their eyes on the player for next season along with rivals Arsenal. The club haven’t really made a move but it is understood that Kokcu is a player they could swoop for, who is rated at a modest €12m.
