Transfer News: Tottenham target Joachim Andersen keen on Premier League stay

According to news from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Joachim Andersen is keen on staying in the Premier League after his loan deal with Fulham expires.

Andersen joined Fulham on a season-long loan deal from French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon. After missing a few games early in the season, the Danish centre-back has been a standout performer for the Cottagers, even though the campaign is set to end with relegation for the London outfit.

Andersen’s displays at the heart of the defence earned him the captain’s armband at Fulham with regular captain Tom Cairney spending a major chunk of the campaign out on the sidelines. And the 24-year-old’s displays have been enough to attract interest from Tottenham Hotspur. (h/t Daily Mail)

And now, it is being claimed that Andersen is also keen on staying in the Premier League beyond the current campaign when his loan deal with Fulham runs out. It is said that the centre-back, who is valued at around £20m, is well-settled in London and would be open to the idea of staying put even after the 2020/21 campaign is over. (h/t Daily Mail)

This development ought to come as a boost for Tottenham. It goes without saying that we need defensive reinforcements in the summer given as Toby Alderweireld isn’t getting any younger while Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have had inconsistent campaigns.

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

With Joe Rodon yet to settle in as well, someone like Andersen, who has enjoyed a fine season in the Premier League can be a worthy addition. It now remains to be seen if Tottenham are able to seal the transfer of Andersen from Lyon in the upcoming summer window.
