Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust set for meeting with club’s board on Tuesday

According to the Evening Standard, the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust (THST) is set to meet with the club’s board this Tuesday following the recent European Super League controversy.

THST have been extremely vocal against the way the board handled matters with regard to the involvement of the club in the ESL. They have, since, been calling for the resignation of the current board and are even pushing for fan representation on the board.

The club hierarchy had made approaches to meet the THST fan group but had been turned down – a move which was criticised by the board. After deliberation, it seems like both parties have decide to sit down and negotiate the best way forward for the club.

“We have agreed with SpursOfficial that THFC board representatives will meet with THSTOfficial board representatives on Tuesday 18 May to discuss the club’s proposals for an Advisory Panel and fan representation at board level. We’ll update THST members ASAP after the meeting.”

THST had previously lashed out at the club directors’ suggestion of including one fan representative as a non-executive member on the board without any consultation with the fans. It seems like the matter will be discussed in the meeting this Tuesday.

The Tottenham hierarchy is experiencing a lot of pushback following the ESL controversy. Protests were held outside the stadium this past Saturday against Daniel Levy and the ENIC group, with more being planned. It remains to be seen if the meeting between the board and THST brings about any positive change.
