Manchester United to adopt a multi-pronged approach to land Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane

According to The Times (Subscription Required), Manchester United are ready to compensate Harry Kane for any financial loss he may have to experience if he has to force his way out of Tottenham Hotspur.

The 27-year-old still has three years left on his Spurs deal, giving the North Londoners the advantage when it comes to contract negotiations. Although Kane has not yet put in a transfer request, doing so will see him miss out on his loyalty bonus.

United have him covered in the case of such an eventuality. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is willing to compensate Kane for any loyalty bonuses foregone if he was to put in a formal transfer request this summer.

This is in addition to other reports that Kane will find his wages doubled if he makes the move to Old Trafford. Such a move will see the English skipper pocket a mammoth £400,000-a-week in wages. (h/t Express)

United are currently behind Manchester City in the running to land Kane. They hope these financial commitments will help sway the forward into favouring them instead.

United’s  English internationals, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford are also all set to convince the Three Lions skipper to make the switch. With all of them set to spend this summer together at the Euros, it paints a sobering picture for a Spurs fan.

Manchester United are also ready to sacrifice Anthony Martial to fund the move for Kane. The Frenchman is a player Tottenham are keen on and would be a good addition to our frontline. The 25-year-old remains an unfulfilled talent at United. He is, however, far from being the player who can replace Kane, if it comes to that.

Losing Kane would be a major blow for Spurs’ efforts to rebuild their side. With no new manager lined up, the team is currently in limbo and will take some shaking up. Losing our best asset at this point in time would be a catastrophe that could set us back even further. Tottenham should do all they can to ensure the 27-year-old starts next season in white.
