Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson names two Tottenham stars he would enjoy coaching

Speaking to SportBible (h/t football.london), Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he would have loved coaching “excellent” Tottenham Hotspur players, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Ferguson is a 13-time Premier League winner with the Red Devils in his 27 years at the helm. After his departure from Old Trafford, United have declined, further highlighting how influential the Scotsman was in establishing the club as a European giant.

So, when a man of his stature has good words to say about a player, they tend to matter a lot more. And Ferguson singled out Harry Kane and Son Heung-min of Tottenham when asked about the players he would have loved to coach today.

He also mentioned how he thought Dele Alli was going to be a top player but it hasn’t worked out for him. Nevertheless, his comments about Son and Kane further highlight how important the duo is to Spurs.

“I think [Harry] Kane. I thought Dele Ali was going to be a top player, I must admit I don’t know what’s happened there. And the boy [Heung-min] Son. These are excellent players.”

Unfortunately for Spurs fans, these comments about Kane would not invoke as much joy as they would have a few months back. The striker is heavily tipped to make a Spurs exit in the summer.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona are all clubs that have been linked with the Englishman. And with Spurs failing to win a trophy this season or qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the next, the 27-year-old’s future hangs in the balance.

But it remains to be seen what happens ultimately with him. Kane is still contracted to Spurs and Daniel Levy won’t let go of his prized asset very easily.
