Harry Kane to leave Tottenham even if Mauricio Pochettino returns

According to the Metro, Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane is determined to leave the club even if Mauricio Pochettino returns as manager for next season.

Kane has been at Tottenham all his career, having come through the ranks at the club. One of the best strikers in the game currently, the 27-year-old is yet to win a single major honour in his footballing career.

While he enjoyed a sensational 2020/21 campaign, Tottenham, as a team, stumbled yet again and are once again set for a rebuild with Jose Mourinho gone and a new manager set to come in. As a result, Kane is pushing for an exit this summer, in order to fulfil his trophy ambitions.

Tottenham, though, are reluctant to lose their prized asset in the summer. With the hunt for the new manager going on, the North Londoners have set their sights on ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine was let go of by Spurs in November 2019 but is being targeted for a return.

It was under Pochettino that Kane flourished and grew into the player that he is today. So, naturally, the club hierarchy is hoping that the Argentine potentially returning to the club could help the England captain change his stance on his immediate future.

However, that will not be the case, as per the report. Kane, unfortunately for Tottenham, has his heart set on an exit and even Pochettino coming back is unlikely to change his decision.

Kane has been a great player for us, without a question. But as he enters the peak of his career, it is only natural for him to want to challenge for and win trophies. That, at the moment, unfortunately, is not possible at Tottenham. So, an exit this summer looks the most likely outcome of this saga.
