European Super League set to relaunch after revamp; Tottenham still part of the project

According to The Times, the European Super League will relaunch in a new form, with all the six English clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, still a part of the botched project.

The European Super League was planned in secret and announced to the world in April, with 12 teams – six from England, including Tottenham, being part of the closed, breakaway competition. The development that tried to change the fabric of the game as we know and love was met with huge rage and backlash from supporters across the globe.

Facing the ire, all six Premier League clubs – Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal issued statements of apologies while also seemingly withdrawing from the renegade competition.

However, as per the aforementioned report, the European Super League project is still not dead yet. It must be noted that Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona have not withdrawn from the Super League even though the other three teams – AC Milan, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid backed out of the English clubs.

But it is claimed that the Super League will come back with a revamped model, with all six Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, being a part. Indeed, the report states that there is no such mechanism in place for any club that allows them to withdraw from the project completely. (h/t The Times)

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Chelsea and the remaining five Premier League clubs that were involved in the breakaway were fined a total of £22m in total earlier this month. The teams further agreed to pay £25m each and lose 30 points if they attempt to relaunch or be involved in such a project in the future. (h/t Daily Mail)

But it seems like the Super League could be set to rear its ugly head yet again.
