The player shared his thoughts on social media. He posted that he is delighted to extend his time at the club and wants to thank everyone at the club who gave him this opportunity.
Bayern Munich links
In April 2021, there was no clarity over his future. Football Insider (h/t Dailymail) reported that German giants Bayern Munich are ‘plotting’ a move for Tottenham star. The report suggested that the Bavarians were ready to offer Son a 5-year deal. Son would not have been a stranger to Germany, having played for Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg.
Four more years in North London
The winger has established himself among the world’s best while at Tottenham. He was signed by the club in 2015. Since then, he has made 197 Premier League appearances, racking up 70 goals and 43 assists.
His highlights so far include that stunning goal against Burnley, for which the South Korean was awarded the Puskas award by FIFA. He also played an incredible part in Spurs’ memorable 2019 Champions League final run. His three goals helped Spurs beat Manchester City in the quarterfinals.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported about Son’s new contract last month. The tweet mentioned that the player will receive a raise in salary.
