Transfer News: VfB Stuttgart ready to sell Borna Sosa next summer amidst Tottenham Hotspur interest

According to the Croatian publication Sportske Novosti (h/t The Mirror), VfB Stuttgart are willing to sell Borna Sosa in the summer transfer window amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur. He has been one of the few positives in their team this season and seems to be nearing an exit at the end of this term.

Tottenham have been keeping tabs on Sosa as they are looking to bolster their squad to back Antonio Conte. Now, they have received a massive boost in their pursuit as Stuttgart have reached an agreement to part ways with the left-back next summer. It is likely that he would end up leaving if they drop down to the second division at the end of this campaign.

The Croatian had already admitted his desire to move to the Premier League since he feels ready to take the next step in his playing career. Spurs could make their approach in the next few weeks, as a result, and look to strengthen the left-hand side of their defence.

Sosa to Spurs, on the cards?

We have been handed an initiative to push for a move ahead of the summer transfer window. After all, we have a genuine chance to secure the 24-year-old’s services and provide quality competition to Sergio Reguilon and Ryan Sessegnon down that side.

The Bundesliga defender has earned lots of plaudits for his performances, even if his team has been struggling to get out of the relegation zone. His excellent crossing abilities have resulted in him getting compared to David Beckham, which is huge praise considering the Manchester United legend was perhaps second to none in that department.

Moreover, the English club has assessed the VfB Stuttgart ace and have declared him a worthy addition to the squad for next season, according to BILD via The Mirror.

It will be interesting to see how our team set-up would change if the Croatian international is signed at the end of this season. After all, we already have Sergio Reguilon and Ryan Sessegnon in the left-wingback area, and both of them have fared well under Conte.

Perhaps, we could see Sessegnon getting shifted further forward, or being relegated to the bench more often to help him gather experience before he can be a regular for us. He was sensational in that position at Swansea City, which eventually prompted us to buy him in the first place.

Sosa could be a fine choice for us in our pursuit to extinguish the title drought that has plagued us for so long. Whether he would be an addition to our squad or not remains to be seen in the months to come ahead of the next campaign.
