Tottenham Hotspur handed Adama Traore boost as Wolves are unlikely to buy Francisco Trincao
According to the Spanish source SPORT (h/t The Express), Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost regarding their pursuit of Adama Traore as Wolves are unlikely to buy Francisco Trincao permanently from Barcelona. Spurs had tried to sign the Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee back in January, but the Spanish club pipped them to secure his services.
However, Tottenham are still interested in Traore as Antonio Conte is a keen admirer of the winger. They could get a second chance at landing the attacker due to the financial constraints of Barca. The latter is not in a condition to trigger the £25million optional clause to sign the winger permanently this summer.
The Blaugrana side are hoping that the Wanderers would activate the £25m optional clause to bring Trincao permanently to Molineux. However, their desire is unlikely to become a reality as the English side are unlikely to trigger the buy option for someone who has not fared well this season.
Traore to finally join Spurs?
We are forced to wait and see how this situation will pan out in the coming months ahead of the summer transfer window. After all, there is nothing we can do at this moment other than to keep a close eye on the stances taken by Xavi Hernandez’s side and Bruno Lage’s team moving forward.
We hope that the La Liga side’s financially stricken situation will remain the same in the months to come ahead of the next term. After all, they can simply activate the buy option if they decide to do so if their books are in a better condition.
At the same time, we also need Trincao to not explode in the remainder of this season so that Lage’s side would not think about activating their option. Should all these situations favour us, we can have a second shot to bring Traore to N17 at the end of the current campaign.
Conte and Fabio Paratici are stated to be monitoring the situation closely to push forward for a move this summer. Whether the North Londoners would get a chance to facilitate a transfer for Traore or not would only be known in due time. We hope to see that happen, considering how he has impressed during his short spell at Camp Nou.

The Wolves star has fallen down the pecking order due to Ousmane Dembele’s resurgence recently. Despite that, we cannot overlook the good things the former has done so far on loan. As such, we could offer him a position where the 26-year-old can enjoy more prominence with us from next season onwards.
After all, the Italian boss plans to use the Spaniard as a wing-back in a similar way to how he used Victor Moses at Chelsea, for example. Only time will tell give us an answer whether that will happen or not from next season onwards.
