Real Madrid star Marco Asensio offered to Tottenham Hotspur amidst Arsenal transfer links
According to The Sunday Mirror [Print Edition] via HITC (h/t Football.London), Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the opportunity to sign Real Madrid star Marco Asensio ahead amidst transfer links to Arsenal. The winger has failed to meet the expectations in which he broke initially into the top-flight action.
Asensio has already been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the summer transfer window. Now, it seems that he has been proposed to Tottenham as a potential target, having struggled to garner many minutes at Santiago Bernabeu this season.
AC Milan are also in the same boat as Spurs since the former has been offered the Spaniard’s services moving forward. It remains to be seen whether the English would accept the proposal and facilitate a move to sign him at the end of the current campaign.
Spurs need Asensio?
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence under Carlo Ancelotti’s side this campaign, having scored ten goals alongside an assist from 35 appearances across all competitions. Despite that, he is still far from the early promise he had shown when he broke into the first-team set-up.
Perhaps we could use a man of his talents in our squad if there is any departure in the right-wing position. Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura are the current set of options, with the former having certainly made an impact since his move in January.
Moura could potentially have some issues as he has been playing second fiddle to Kulusevski for a while. The former has struggled to receive regular game time for the past three months because of this situation. Hence, we could use Asensio in our ranks to maintain the squad depth should a possible exit take place in the future.

Who knows, maybe Antonio Conte could even reignite his lost mojo as the boss is known to get the best out of his players. Achraf Hakimi, for example, was deemed dispensable at the Madrid club and became one of the best right-backs under Conte at Inter Milan. Perhaps we could see a repeat if Asensio joins us in the future.
A quick decision has to be made, especially when Milan have also been offered the chance to secure Asensio’s signature. With Mikel Arteta’s side having shown interest to sign him, we must be quick about the matter before we lose the opportunity from our hands. It remains to be seen whether Conte would entertain the proposal or not.
