Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer target Oscar Gloukh signs new Maccabi Tel Aviv contract
Oscar Gloukh, who was on the transfer radar of Tottenham Hotspur in the latest summer transfer window, has signed a new contract at Maccabi Tel Aviv, as per HITC (h/t Football.London).
The 18-year-old Israel U21 international has made big waves at his club this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists in 13 games across competitions.
He is an up-and-coming star in the Israeli league where he has made enough of an impression to get Tottenham’s attention this summer. Spurs notably travelled to Israel to play their last pre-season friendly against AS Roma.
The number 10 position is one where we can sign someone. It’s not really a position that we see manager Antonio Conte use.
What should Spurs do?
Perhaps that is due to a lack of options in that position. Our double pivot of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur can fall a bit bland at times.
In this regard, it won’t do much hard signing a playmaker. However, Gloukh is a player still learning his trade.
He showed that he has what it takes to take on players of his age group when he starred for Israel U19 as they made the final of the 2022 UEFA Euros U19 against England U19 earlier this year.
His team lost via a 3-1 scoreline but he scored the only goal for his team. It remains to be seen if Spurs will rekindle their interest in Gloukh.

A new contract can, of course, make things difficult. However, he could be a smart acquisition if he continues to develop at this rate and perhaps be a bargain buy for any team that gets him in the near future.
