Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News: Real Madrid linked with a surprise move for Spurs star Richarlison
Real Madrid could make a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison as a potential successor for Karim Benzema, as per Spanish outlet Sport (h/t Football.London).
It was about time, wasn’t it? It just seems that Los Blancos‘ name gets linked to players making a big splash in world football.
Richarlison signed for us this summer from Everton for a fee of 60million Pounds and since he just arrived at N17, it would be a big surprise if he leaves so soon. But Madrid’s threat is viable.
They are a team capable of attracting the world’s best talents. The funny thing is, the 25-year-old isn’t even a fixed starter at Spurs and he is setting the World Cup alight with Brazil.
Richarlison to Real Madrid?
Harry Kane is a first-choice forward for us and there is no way Richarlison overrides him in the pecking order. Dejan Kulusevski is sensational down the right flank and deserves whatever playing time he gets.
Son Heung-min, like Kane, is irreplaceable in our attack. Hence, Richarlison has had to make do with whatever starts he can get.
Benzema’s situation would be worrying for Real Madrid and it is no surprise if they keep getting linked with forwards left, right, and centre. The former Olympique Lyonnais man is out for the 2022 FIFA World Cup with an injury.
Given his fitness issues and his age (34), there is a feeling that Madrid need a new striker for the long term. It will be a big test of Richarlison’s commitment to Antonio Conte’s Spurs project if Madrid do come knocking on the door.
