Antonio Conte’s potential return date for Tottenham Hotspur revealed after AC Milan loss

According to the Telegraph (Subscription Required), Tottenham Hotspur are expecting manager Antonio Conte to return to the sidelines for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round-of-16 clash against AC Milan.

The Italian tactician is still recovering from the gall bladder surgery he underwent last month. His return to the sidelines for Spurs has been delayed but there is now hope that he can return to the dugout for the massively important clash against I Rossoneri.

Cristian Stellini has been manning the touchline and carrying out the media duties in Conte’s absence. He helped us beat Manchester City and Preston North End in Conte’s absence.

However, losses against Leicester City (4-1) and AC Milan (1-0) have sobered expectations amongst fans in the former Inter Milan and Chelsea manager’s absence. There is just something about his passion on the touchline that seems to give our players an edge in games.

Conte should return soon

Moreover, he is the one that calls the shots when it comes to tactics. His ability to understand games as they unravel and adjust his team accordingly is a huge aspect of his management which we are currently devoid of.

We play against West Ham United, Chelsea, and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League and have an FA Cup five-round game against Sheffield United before we play against AC Milan again.

We host Milan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 8 March, which seems a long way from now. Between now and then, our fortunes can change in the league.

Liverpool’s win against Newcastle United has, to an extent, made it an even more cut-throat race for top four. We cannot afford to slip in the coming weeks and Stellini should do his best to give Conte something to build on once he returns from the resting bed.
