Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi linked with the job at Tottenham Hotspur

According to Sussex Express, Brighton & Albion boss Roberto de Zerbi has been linked with the job at Tottenham Hotspur after Antonio Conte was sacked from his role.

De Zerbi has been in the spotlight for his impressive work at Brighton since taking over from Graham Potter in September 2022. The 43-year-old Italian manager has won 10 out of 16 games in all competitions with the Seagulls and has led the team to seventh place in the league table, just seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham with three games in hand.

Conte’s departure from Spurs was not entirely unexpected, as his post-match comments following their 3-3 draw with Southampton on March 18th raised eyebrows. The Italian manager had criticized the club’s culture and accused his players of being “selfish”.

De Zerbi’s name has been on the lips of many in the football world, and it’s no surprise that he has been linked with a top job like Tottenham. His impressive track record at Brighton has not gone unnoticed, and he is seen as a manager who can take Tottenham to the next level.

Tottenham will be hoping to bring in a manager who can get the team back to winning ways and challenge for major trophies. With De Zerbi’s success at Brighton, he could be the man for the job. The Italian manager has shown that he can work with a team and get the best out of his players, something that Tottenham desperately needs.

De Zerbi’s style of play is also something that Tottenham fans would appreciate. He has a preference for an attacking brand of football that is both entertaining and effective. This is something that Tottenham has been lacking in recent years, and De Zerbi could be the one to change that.

The race for the top four is still very much on, and Tottenham will need a manager who can guide them to the Champions League next season. With De Zerbi’s record at Brighton, he could be the perfect fit. Tottenham has struggled this season, but with the right manager, they can turn things around quickly.

The Brighton manager might not yet be proven at the highest level. De Zerbi is still a very talented manager who is making all the right noises. With time, we’ll know how the Italian pans out.
