Mauricio Pochettino rejects Tottenham Hotspur to wait for Real Madrid
According to foreign outlet TYC Sport, former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to reject Tottenham Hotspur as he waits for an opportunity at Real Madrid ahead of next season.
Pochettino’s return to the club seemed like a real possibility not so long ago but it looks like he does not want to come back. It is no secret that Pochettino enjoyed a successful spell at Tottenham, leading the club to the Champions League final in 2019.
However, his tenure at the North London club ultimately came to an end, and he has since moved on to other challenges. After leaving Tottenham, Pochettino took over at Paris Saint-Germain, where he enjoyed some success but was eventually let go in July 2022.
Now, it appears that Pochettino is keen to make his return to the dugout, but he is not willing to settle for just any job. According to reports, he has his sights set firmly on the Real Madrid job, and he is said to be the favourite candidate of the club’s president, Florentino Perez, should Carlo Ancelotti leave this summer.
The legendary Los Blancos manager has been linked with the Brazil national team job and could leave the Spanish capital to take up that role. In that case, Pochettino is Real Madrid’s top option.
It is no surprise that Pochettino would be interested in the Real Madrid job, given the club’s illustrious history and recent success. The Argentine has shown that he can work wonders with the resources he has been provided, and he would undoubtedly relish the challenge of managing one of the biggest clubs in world football.

Moreover, Pochettino’s high-pressing, attacking style of play would be a perfect fit for the Santiago Bernabeu, where fans demand nothing but the best. As for Tottenham, the search for a new head coach continues.
The club parted ways with Antonio Conte a few days ago, and they are still in the market for a permanent replacement. While Pochettino would have been a popular choice among fans, it seems that he has other ideas.
