Tottenham Hotspur target Evan Ndicka reaches agreement with AS Roma
According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur target Evan Ndicka has reached an agreement with Roma to join the club as a free agent in the summer.
It’s believed that the Italian side have reached a provisional agreement with Ndicka, with a contract worth around €2 million a season. Former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho seems to have handed a blow to his previous club.
With Clement Lenglet only on loan from Barcelona, Tottenham are in the market for a left-sided centre-back, and Ndicka seemed like the perfect fit. He would have been an amazing player to sign.
At 23 years of age, Ndicka has already established himself as a key player in the Bundesliga, and his potential is clear for all to see. He has played plenty of games on the left side of a back three, and would have been an ideal addition to Tottenham’s squad.
However, it seems that Roma have stolen a march on Spurs, with some reports suggesting that Ndicka could even be heading to Rome for a medical. This would be a major blow for Tottenham, who are in need of reinforcements in defence.
Of course, this is not the first time that Tottenham have missed out on a transfer target. However, identifying the right alternative is very important. Also, nothing is confirmed before the dotted line is signed.
The Italian side have been playing a back three this season, but have been lacking a natural left-footer. Ndicka is seen as the perfect solution to this problem, and it’s no surprise that Roma have moved to sign him.
Despite this setback, Tottenham fans should not be too disheartened. The club still has a number of targets on their radar, and there is plenty of time left. We can still find the left-footed centre-back that we need.
