Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Barcelona star Andreas Christensen

According to Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur want to sign talented Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen from Barcelona in the summer.

With the worst defence in the top half of the table, Tottenham Hotspur need top-class reinforcements to improve their back four. Christensen is just one of several players that have been linked with a move to the North London club in recent weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur signed Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona last summer but he was considered a stop-gap signing after the club failed to sign any of their top-choice centre-backs.

However, Tottenham Hotspur may have to fight off competition from Newcastle and Aston Villa if they want to land Christensen in the summer. Barcelona must agree to sell him so soon.

Newcastle have one of the best defences in the league with Fabian Schär and Sven Botman forming an excellent centre-back partnership at the back. Despite this, the Magpies are reportedly keen to add more quality to their squad depth as they close in on Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa, who have been exceptional since Unai Emery took over, are also looking to improve their squad for next season and Christensen would be a great signing for them.

If Tottenham Hotspur are serious about signing the former Chelsea man, they will have to act fast and outbid their rivals for his signature. With Barcelona looking to reduce their wage bill substantially in the upcoming summer, the Danish international could be available for a reasonable price.

Christensen has had a great time in Barcelona. He has been unbelievable for Xavi Hernandez’s team whenever fit. The Spanish tactician might not want to part ways with a player who has given him so much.
