AS Monaco close to agreement with Fulham for Tottenham Hotspur target Tosin Adarabioyo

Tottenham Hotspur target Tosin Adarabioyo is set to join AS Monaco, with the Ligue 1 outfit close to agreeing terms with Fulham, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.

The Red and Whites are looking to bolster their squad this summer and had the English national as one of their priorities. However, they also faced competition from the North London side for the defence.

But it looks like the Stade Louis-II side will pip Spurs in the race to acquire the services of the 25-year-old this summer. They quickly reached a consensus with the centre-back and are progressing well in their discussions with the Cottagers.

Monaco are set to lose Axel Disasi. Chelsea are on the verge of getting a hold of his signature. Thus, the Red and Whites want to seal the deal for Adarabioyo in the coming days.

Over the years, the English national has made his way through the youth ranks at Manchester City before signing for Fulham on a permanent basis. After starring for the Craven Cottage side in the Championship, the defender played a part in their survival last season.

While the centre-back was in and out of the team, he was pivotal to Marco Silva’s plans. The Manchester-born star started in 23 matches in the English top flight for the Cottagers in the 2022/23 term.

Tottenham’s defence has been inconsistent over the years.

Tottenham beat Fulham twice in the PL in the previous campaign. Adarabioyo featured in our 2-1 win away from home in September. The English national put in a solid performance winning all of his aerial and ground duels.

Spurs were unable to count on their defenders consistently last season. Eric Dier has had his ups and downs over the years. Clement Lenglet also made his fair share of errors. Ben Davies has been played out of position for some time now.

Therefore, we evidently need to reinforce the backline. Adarabioyo would seemingly be a promising option with experience in the PL. But it seems like Monaco are going to be his next destination.
