Hugo Lloris is set to depart from Tottenham after spending over a decade with the team
Tottenham Hotspur have been using the services of Hugo Lloris for over 11 years now. The player has kept the Lilywhites’ goal safe for most of his career as a professional footballer. Now, the time has come for the 37-year-old to bid farewell.
Hugo Lloris took to Instagram to say goodbye to the fans. Ex-Tottenham forward Lucas Moura only had one word for the French goalkeeper. He honoured him by using the simple word “Legend” to describe the player.
Lloris had been with the club for 11 years and will not be playing in the US for Los Angeles FC. Over 444 appearances for the club, the 37-year-old kept a total of 151 clean sheets for them (transfermarkt). The Lilywhites’ fans will be sad as they say goodbye to a club legend.
With Lloris chasing glory in the US, Tottenham will now be looking towards Guglielmo Vicario to keep their goal safe. The 27-year-old has been good for the Spurs this season. Fans will be hoping that the Italian can now follow in the footsteps of Hugo Lloris.
Over 19 appearances this season Vicario has maintained a total of 5 clean sheets for the club (Transfermarkt). Postecoglou will be counting on him again as the team gears up to take on Bournemouth during today’s Premier League fixture.
Lloris has always been a problem for the Cherries to deal with. Now, Vicario standing tall at 1.94m will also prove to be a wall that their opponents must overcome. Tonight’s game is amping up to be an exciting one.
