Tottenham have completed their fourth summer acquisition as the club have officially announced the arrival of Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain for a reported £23million fee (Express Sport). The Ivorian international has penned down a five-year deal with the club, notifying his announcement, Tottenham – in an official statement – quoted, “We are delighted to announce the signing of Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain.”
Unveiling his shirt number, the statement further read, “The right-back has signed a contract with the Club until 2022 and will wear the number 24 shirt.”

Having sold Kyle Walker to Manchester City for a whopping £53million earlier this summer, Pochettino, quite rightly so, wanted to bring in a possible replacement and in Aurier, he has got what he wished for. The deal for the Ivorian was already agreed some days before, but his work permit was stalling for the move to get finalised.
The 24-year-old was accused of assaulting a police officer outside a nightclub in Paris and was given a suspended two-month jail sentence. He, however, appealed against it was freed of all the charges, but was prevented from entering the United Kingdom last November.
Everything has now been finalised and Aurier has become Tottenham’s third defensive signing following the arrival of Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth. After completing his move, Aurier told Tottenham:
“This is a huge and exciting opportunity at a massive football club and I am determined to prove myself as a professional both on and off the pitch. This is a fresh start for me and I will do everything to make the Spurs fanbase, which is huge and diverse, proud of me. The fans are the most important people at any club and I am looking forward to showing them and everyone at Spurs the real Serge Aurier.”
Twitter went crazy as the deal was announced and this is how the fans reacted to the news:
