Tottenham prepare to sign World Cup star who could cost more than €30million

Tottenham are interested in an old target in Ante Rebic according to reports from Germany. Bild (h/t Football.London) claims that the Croatian is a player that could be brought to Tottenham after impressing for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The report, however, adds that we have not made an offer for the 24-year-old. Another Premier League club, Huddersfield are also interested in signing the attacker but the player does not want to move to the Terriers.

Rebic was linked with a move to White Hart Lane in 2013 and even his agent Danko Dikic stated that England is the priority for the Croatian and that Tottenham could be the right club for the attacker because of our style of football.

The 24-year-old did help his current club Eintracht Frankfurt defeat Bayern Munich in the Pokal Trophy final where he was the man of the match, scoring a brace.

While Rebic plays mostly in an attacking role down the middle, the 24-year-old was also deployed as a left-winger and a midfielder for the Bundesliga side last season.

The Croatian could cost more than €30million as his former club Fiorentina would receive a part of the transfer fee but that could be money well spent given that the player is well-travelled.

Rebic has played in Italy with Fiorentina and Verona while he also had a stint with RB Leipzig before joining Frankfurt.

The Croatian’s value could rise should the national side do well in the World Cup and he did play 78 minutes in the 2-0 win over Nigeria in their first group encounter. He also scored in their 3-0 win over Argentina on Thursday.

Tottenham could do with some creativity out wide and we could do with some cover for Son Heung-min and Christian Eriksen, and maybe Rebic is the man for the job.
