Benjamin Pavard‘s stock keeps rising as Corriere dello Sport (h/t The Mirror) claims that the young Frenchman is a target for Napoli.

The 22-year-old scored a wonderful goal in the 4-3 win for France over Argentina in the round of 16 at the World Cup.

Pavard, who normally plays as a centre-back for his current club Stuttgart, has been deployed as a right-back by the French national side as they look to go all the way and win the trophy.

Tottenham have been interested in the 22-year-old and face competition from another London club in the form of Arsenal.

The 22-year-old was in great form for his German club as he helped them stay in the Bundesliga after gaining promotion a couple of years ago.

Pavard certainly is a player that can grow and get better over the years and it should come as no surprise that other clubs are looking to sign the player up.

The French youngster would be a great addition to our side given that he can play as a central defender and also as a right-back, so he would provide us with a lot of options.

Pavard would also add competition for the central defensive spots and could be one of the signings of the season if we can pull it off.

Stuttgart would be loving the current situation as they would be able to drive the price up for the youngster and a possible bidding war could take place should Pavard continue putting in such great performances for the national team in Russia.
