Tottenham dealt blow in attacker chase as Sky Germany journalist confirms Pochettino target is not for sale

Christian Pulisic is a Tottenham target

Tottenham would have a real fight on their hands to land Christian Pulisic as Hans Joachim Watzke, the Borussia Dortmund chief, would never let go of the 19-year-old American, according to Max Bielefeld.

The Sky Germany journalist was speaking on the Transfer Talk Podcast (h/t Express) and was quoted as saying:

“Hans Joachim Watzke would never let Pulisic go. They want him to be the new face of the new Dortmund team.”

Bielefeld also added that the Dortmund fans love the American and that he was their number one option when Marco Reus was injured. Pulisic also got to play a lot after Ousmane Dembele left the side to join Barcelona. The Sky man also added that the player has a contract until 2020.

Christian Pulisic

Pulisic was always going to be a tough buy for us given how he has grown in the Bundesliga and that the club do see him as a player for the present and the future.

The American started 27 Bundesliga games as he scored 4 times and provided 5 assists for Dortmund. He has the experience of playing in England as a youth player but us not signing him will be a bit of a concern for our overall plans.

Mauricio Pochettino has a lot of work to do in the transfer window as we are yet to sign a player. Our rivals have brought in a few stars already and if we do not get someone in, we would already be chasing the pack ahead of the new season.
