France are world champions once again after 1998! Hugo Lloris is a world champion too after France defeated Croatia 4-2 in the final.

The French were the favourites for the title as they had overcome Argentina and Belgium in the knockout rounds to make it so far. Lloris was set to win the Golden Glove too and the first goal of the game came via Mario Mandzukic as he deflected an Antoine Griezmann delivery into the Croatia net.

However, Croatia came back as Ivan Perisic slammed home from the edge of the box before he was penalised for a handball in the box.

Griezmann converted that expertly before Paul Pogba made it three in the second half. Kylian Mbappe, the youngster who has made a huge impact for the French, made it four and the World Cup was France’s.

Unfortunately, Lloris had his own moment when he tried to outwit Mandzukic but ended up allowing the Croatian to score. It ended 4-2 and it led to wild celebrations from the French and rightfully so.

A Tottenham star is a World Cup winner and here are some of the best reactions from the fans.
