Claudio Marchisio ended a 25-year association with Juventus as he became a free agent this season. The Italian suffered a serious knee injury last season (h/t Football.london) and Massimiliano Allegri decided to cut the 32-year-old from the side.
Marchisio won seven Serie A titles with the giants but being a free agent ensures the Italian can join any side. A few Tottenham fans even wanted the experienced Italian at the club.
Tottenham did not sign any player in the summer window and Marchisio’s experience would be great to have in the side.
It will be interesting to see which club the Italian ends up at, however, some Spurs fans certainly seem to want the Italian in London and here are a few reactions from Twitter.

Marchisio on a free would ideal for Spurs. Can sign him up right now and would be far better than Dembele in the centre of the park.

Spurs could really do with another body in midfield, especially with this kind of pedigree and experience with winning silverware? Given they’re obviously cash strapped Marchisio on a free seems like a no Brainer! #THFC https://t.co/7wO12eThLz

If we sold enough non homegrown and didn’t name certain players could we get Marchisio on a free now?
Would add some great experience to the squad— Harry C (@HazSpur92) August 17, 2018
I’d defo take Marchisio on a free, we’re light in central midfield and his experience at the top would be so beneficial. Sign him up Poch! 👀 #COYS
