Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Hugo Lloris will miss the clash against Watford but he could be ready for the Liverpool game after the international break.

Pochettino was speaking in his pre-match press conference before our clash against Watford and was quoted by Football.london as saying:

“We’ll see. The idea is of course he is going to miss the game against Watford. We hope he will be ready again for Liverpool. It’s not a big issue.”

The manager was asked about his mood after the win over Manchester United and Pochettino added that he was not happy with the first-half performance against the Red Devils.

The Argentine wanted the side to improve and play like challengers for the next 10 months of the season. Pochettino added that Watford are “over the moon” and are “a very good team”.

Pochettino wasn’t open to speaking about which players might leave but he stated that he was happy with the squad and was not going to “push someone to leave”.

Tottenham had asked the FA to host their Carabao Cup game against Watford at Stadium MK (h/t Guardian) and Pochettino was asked about the fans’ unhappiness at having to travel there.

“You cannot make all the people happy. Maybe someone complain and create a big noise. The most important is the decision of the Football League is to us to pick the venue. We are going to make a decision and the best for the team.”

Pochettino asked for patience as our new stadium was being built and even spoke about our Champions League group featuring Barcelona, Inter Milan and PSV Eindhoven.

“It’s so exciting to face this kind of club. Of course it’s so exciting. I come back to my town Barcelona. Always it’s exciting to play against a team like Barcelona, Inter Milan or PSV. Of course it’s a young team PSV but it’s exciting to play there too.”
