More bad news as Tottenham could play home games at Wembley till mid December

Tottenham new stadium

The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham Hotspur have taken up an option with the FA to play their homes games at Wembley till 15th December.

The agreement would see us playing the match against Burnley on that date while our next home clash is against Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

The report further claims that Tottenham could be forced into playing all their home games at Wembley this season.

Officials have warned Daniel Levy that there could be a point where Spurs must commit to playing at Wembley for the remainder of the campaign, as per the report.

Key stakeholders believe this lack of clarity on the new stadium is unfair for broadcasters, opposition teams and the fans, as per the Daily Mail.

The report adds that Levy is confident the stadium will be ready before 15th December and the agreement with the FA is a safety net. However, confidence is low regarding the stadium being ready this year and the Premier League board could intervene, as per the Daily Mail.

There might come a point where Tottenham should confirm their stadium for all their remaining home games and the report adds that the UEFA have ordered Spurs to play their Champions League group home fixtures at Wembley.

Tottenham will learn about the venue of their Carabao Cup game against Watford on Thursday, as Stadium MK is our preferred choice.

The lack of clarity on the stadium’s completion date is certainly a low point for us this season. After all, we were told that the stadium would be ready for the clash against Liverpool on 15th September.

Playing at Wembley isn’t the worst solution but we need a final date from the management soon.
