France keeper Hugo Lloris hopes to be fit to face Liverpool after the international break. The 31-year-old missed our 2-1 defeat against Watford and faced neither the Netherlands nor Germany in the UEFA Nations League.
The Tottenham captain, who earns £100,000-a-week, was speaking to RMC (h/t Evening Standard) and was quoted as saying:
“I am working hard to get back as quickly as possible.
“There may be a chance this weekend but we will see how much progress is made during the week.”
The report adds that Lloris spent time celebrating France’s World Cup win with the rest of the squad and will return to Tottenham in 24 hours for an assessment.
Michel Vorm deputized for Lloris in the loss against Watford but having Lloris back between the sticks should give the team more confidence ahead of a big clash.
Liverpool haven’t dropped points this season and have four wins to their name while we have lost one game and won three so far.
The Reds are leading the table and have conceded just one goal but we have good memories of the last time we played them at Wembley.
An emphatic 4-1 win was the result last time around and if we play to our best ability, we should be able to defeat the Reds.

The international break might take some energy out of both teams, thanks to the travelling. However, having someone of Lloris’ ability would be crucial as we must get back to winning ways on 15th September.
