Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Harry Kane will play against Inter Milan in our opening Champions League clash.
Kane has a couple of goals to his name this season but has struggled to replicate his form from the World Cup.
The Englishman has looked a little sluggish this season but Pochettino is confident that the striker will find his scoring boots soon.
Pochettino was asked if Kane could be left out against Inter and was quoted by Sky Sports saying:
“I think we would be crazy to think different. Yes.
“I don’t know what you expect from me, or what you think my answer should be.
“He’s one of the best strikers in the world. I don’t care that he wasn’t great [on Saturday]. He’s going to score goals and he’s going to perform in the way we want and we expect. No problem.”
Tottenham have lost back-to-back games but the manner of the defeat against Liverpool does hurt. The Reds dominated us at Wembley but Pochettino wasn’t complaining about the performance and added that the players have had enough rest post the World Cup.
The Argentine is confident of winning games, however, and believes in the squad too.
“When you win, you win. When you lose, yes of course you need to talk about different things, but I’m not worried.
“We are going to win a lot of games. We have trust in the squad. Of course we need to improve, but we’re in a very good way.”
The Champions League will be a great distraction for the side as we did pretty well in the competition last season. Inter are coming off a defeat at the hands of Parma and we will see two sides in need of a win battling on Tuesday.
