Nico Yennaris plays his football at Brentford but the former Arsenal youngster spoke about Harry Kane’s time at our rivals.
The Mirror reports that Yennaris played in the same U8s side as Kane and the Brentford man spoke about how the Englishman did not let his opportunities go.
“It’s amazing to see where Harry Kane has gone and what he’s gone on to do.
“But you never know and it’s about getting an opportunity and grabbing it with both hands. That’s what he did and he’s never looked back.”
The former Gunner claimed that no one knew how good Kane could be when they released him and another striker was the centre-point for their attack.
“To be fair, when they let him go, we were so young so nobody knew where we would end up and how far we could really go. At my age group, for a lot of the time, it was more about Benik Afobe because he was a main man in our team at the time.”
Kane has only gotten better with each season under his belt and has become one of the best in the world. The 25-year-old picked up the Golden Boot at the World Cup but has made a slow start to the season with Tottenham.
The Englishman is crucial to our chances of winning trophies under Mauricio Pochettino after an average start to the season.
