Mexico star Hector Herrera was one of the more impressive performers for the national side in the World Cup.
The North American side defeated Germany and made it out of their group to but were knocked out by Brazil.
One of the stars from that campaign was Hector Herrera, and a number of clubs were interested in the midfielder post the tournament.
Tottenham were interested in the 28-year-old as well, according to Calciomercato. With the player’s contract coming to an end next summer, many expected the player to leave Porto, as per the report.
However, the Mexican has claimed he wants to remain with the Portuguese side and is working towards an agreement with the club. After Porto’s win over Lokomotiv Moscow, the 28-year-old said (h/t Calciomercato):
“The best thing would be to find an agreement with Porto, I am giving body and soul to this team, it is clear that I would like to stay here again.”
Another team linked with the Mexican was AS Roma but this news would come as a huge blow to both clubs.
Herrera could have been a decent signing and it will be interesting to see if he signs a new deal with Porto.

Foreign clubs can negotiate with the midfielder in the January transfer window and there could be some interested parties if he doesn’t extend his stay at Porto.
