Giovani Lo Celso to be dropped from the starting XI against Wolves
According to Mirror, Giovani Lo Celso is all set to miss out on the Tottenham Hotspur starting XI for the Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers this Sunday at the Molineaux.
The 23-year-old midfielder on loan from Real Betis has failed to impress so far and finds himself down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho, while speaking ahead of the game, said:
“Our squad is not a big squad in numbers, and he will start for sure because it’s impossible to play all the time with the same players,”.
“I couldn’t hide from you that we have a few players one step ahead because of performance. So you want to be objective and asks if he starts Sunday, no he doesn’t.”
Lo Celso did himself no favours with the performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Although he showed glimpses of his skills, it lacked the effect or consistency to affect the game positively.
Other Midfielders such as Dele Alli and Moussa Sissoko have also stepped up their game further, pushing Lo Celso down the pecking order, an observation not lost on the manager.

With Tottenham set to play 6 games in the next 3 weeks, Mourinho will be pressed to rotate his players to account for fatigue and will invariably have to call upon Lo Celso at some point in the run-in.
Giovani Lo Celso has made 8 appearances for Tottenham in the English Premier League, of which 7 were as a substitute. He has scored 1 goal.
