PSG identify Son Hueng-min as Neymar’s successor
According to Don Balon (h/t Calciomercato), French champions Paris Saint-Germain intend to replace wantaway striker Neymar with Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min.
Although the Brazilian superstar arrived in Paris to much fanfare in a big transfer, he never truly settled and has been struggling in Paris.
PSG, who have been unhappy with Neymar’s attitude and public flirtations with Barcelona, seem to be preparing for his eventual departure. The club hierarchy have identified Spurs ace Son to replace Neymar.
All for one or One for All?
Although question marks can be asked over Son’s ability to replicate Neymar’s record of 58 goals in 69 games for PSG at an individual level, he can make the Parisian outfit a better-rounded team where the sum of its parts can exceed the whole.
Son is a selfless player who cherishes the success of his teammates as much as that of his. He can make the players around him better and take away the individual focus that Neymar seems to revel in.
Not only will Son bring quality and flair to the team but also can act as a catalyst that can make the team function better as a whole. A player for the big occasions, Son has consistently produced when his team needed him. A prime example is our Champions League away trip to Manchester City.

His importance isn’t lost at Tottenham and Mourinho rates him highly as an important player in his system as he seeks to rebuild us. Prising him away from London can prove harder than it seems even. We simply cannot let Son leave us.
