Tottenham are interested in Lille’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen
Tottenham are one of a trio of Premier League clubs monitoring the progress of Lille’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen (h/t Sky Sports).
The 20-year-old Nigerian striker, who moved to Lille from Belgian side Charleroi in the summer, has had a stellar season, notching up 16 goals and 3 assists in 28 appearances (h/t Metro).
Signed as a replacement for the outgoing Ivorian star Nicolas Pepe, Osimhen has adapted well to life in the French Ligue 1, where he is the joint third top-scorer.
His performances have garnered the attention of Tottenham’s domestic rivals Liverpool and Chelsea, the latter being the one Osimhen scored against in the UEFA Champions League (h/t Sky Sports).
Advantage Tottenham?
Spurs assistant manager Joao Sacramento has a first-hand idea of Osimhen, having managed him at Lille, before joining Mourinho at Spurs (h/t Sky Sports).
Lille Sporting Director, Luis Campos, is a close friend of Mourinho which might facilitate an easier mode of communication between the clubs, giving us an advantage over Liverpool and Chelsea (h/t Sky Sports).
Tottenham are also interested in Lille midfielder Boubakare Soumare (h/t Daily Mail).
