Championship clubs interested in Tottenham’s 19-year-old Jack Clarke
Fulham and Brentford are interested in signing Jack Clarke in January if Tottenham recall the player from a disappointing loan spell at Leeds United. (h/t Daily Mail)
After a breakout 2018-19 season, Tottenham signed Jack Clarke in the summer and immediately loaned him back Leeds United in the hopes of the youngster getting more playtime.
The move hasn’t gone according to plan, with Clarke predominantly playing for the Under-23s and has featured for just 19 minutes for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
With the move not meeting expectations, Tottenham can recall the youngster in January. (h/t Sky Sports)
Brentford the best choice?
One of the obstacles for him at Leeds was the Championship rule which prevents a club from selecting more than 5 loanees in the same matchday squad. With Leeds having loanees Illan Meslier, Ben White, Helder Costa, Eddie Nketiah and Jack Harrison all ahead of Clarke, it is easy to understand why he has not been getting regular game time.
He is likely to face a similar situation at Fulham, with the Cottagers currently having five players on loan namely Bobby Decordova-Reid, Harry Arter, Ivan Cavaleiro, Harrison Reed and Anthony Knockaert
Not only do Brentford have no other player on loan but they also employ Said Behrahma, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham. (h/t Daily Star)
