Nemanja Matic cools talks on a move to Tottenham Hotspur
Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic has played down speculation on his transfer to Tottenham Hotspur from Manchester United. ( h/t Football London)
Making just 7 appearances, the 31-year-old has been sparingly used by manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer this season.
Having played under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and Manchester United, the midfielder had been continuously linked with a reunion with the Portuguese at Spurs. (h/t Calciomercato)
Talking to Omnisport (h/t Football London), the midfielder remained coy on his links to Spurs.
“As I know, you never know what’s going to happen in life,” he said. “At the moment I’m a Manchester United player and very focused on my job and in the future we will see what’s going to happen.”
Matic’s contract at United expires at the end of this year but the club have an option to extend it by a year up to 2021 if they so desire – one they may exercise if they cannot find a suitable replacement. (h/t Metro)
