Tottenham will not be doing any favors in title race says James Maddison
Tottenham Hotspur star, James Maddison is looking forward to the remaining fixtures with excitement. The Lilywhites have found themselves in a unique situation. While they fight to retain their top four spot they also have a chance of deciding the Premier League title race this season.
Maddison says that the Spurs will not be doing any favours as they look to take on the title contenders. Let’s have a look at what the 27-year-old playmaker had to say about the situation. (h/t Standard)
“People keep asking me about what sort of say we are going to have in the title race. We are not looking at it like that, we have got a job to do. We would never look at what we can do for other teams, we want to finish as high as we can.”
As Maddison says, the Lilywhites have a job to do. They have taken the fourth spot from Aston Villa but the Villans are not far behind. They have played a game extra and are only behind on GD at the moment.
With the Spurs’ spot in the Champions League not secure, the team will surely be looking forward to winning as many games as possible. While some may believe that Tottenham can do a favour and make their choice of opponent win, that will likely not be the case.
The team needs all the points they can and if possible they will even try to overtake one of the top teams and grab a top three spot for themselves. James Maddison and his teammates have a big responsibility on their shoulders and it’s positive to see they’re willing to meet the challenge.
