Tottenham have reportedly re-kindled their interest in Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.
Rossi looked set to join European champions Barcelona but any potential £35 move has been put on hold as the Catalan giants pursue long-standing target Cesc Fabregas and Chilean Alexis Sanchez.
However, the players’ representative, Federico Pastorello, has all but confirmed that any move is now off.
“It’s a move that is definitely off. We are now evaluating a number of options for Rossi’s future, but we can’t rule out the possibility that he could remain with Villarreal,” he said.
“How much will he cost? His valuation is that of a top player.”
Spurs face possible competition for the Italian’s signature from Athletico Madrid who see Rossi as a replacement for Sergio Aguero who looks all but set to leave the Spanish capital this summer.
