The proposed transfer of Niko Krancjar to Fiorentina is set to fund Tottenham’s move for Espanyol striker Pablo Osvaldo.
Manager Harry Redknapp has identified Osvaldo as the player to solve his striking-problems.
However, Redknapp will have to wait for Krancjar to leave for Fiorentina in order to fund any move for Espanyol’s star man with the Spanish side holding out for £20m.
Chairman Daniel Levy is unwilling to break the bank on any new recruits until a large contingent of the fringe players are sold.
And Spurs have reportedly told potential suitors that the Croatian is available for £12m which is proving a stumbling block for the deal to be completed.
Krancjar was expected to join Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kiev last month only for the move to fall through due to the transfer fee.
The former Portsmouth star is now expected to secure a move to Italy before the new season.
