Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes in-demand Luka Modric will still be at White Hart Lane when the new season kicks off next month.
The 25-year-old has expressed a keen desire to join rivals Chelsea in recent weeks with the West London outfit having £27m bid rejected.
And Redknapp feels the Croatian international will not cause any problems if he doesn’t get his desired move.
“I fully expect Luka to be here at the start of the season. The chairman Daniel Levy has already said he does not want to sell him at any price,” Redknapp told The Sun.
“Luka is the nicest boy you could meet and he would not cause a problem to anybody but he feels he has a chance of playing for a team who can win the Champions League.
“He’s also been offered a lot of money. The chairman, though, wants to keep him and I want to build a side around Luka.”
Modric is contracted to Spurs until 2015 and Levy is ready to fight to keep him at the club.
