MLS side LA Galaxy are remaining coy amidst rumours linking Robbie Keane with a move stateside.
Reports on Friday claimed Galaxy, of whom former England captain David Beckham plays for, had made a bid for the 31-year-old as Tottenham look to shift the striker before the close of the window.
However, the Republic of Ireland captain, who admits he is looking to leave White Hart Lane by August 31st, looks set to remain in North London for the time being with Galaxy appearing to keep their cards close to their chest.
“We are always looking to improve our squad and have contacted or been contacted by a host of players during the current transfer window,” said a club spokesman when questioned on the Keane link.
“As soon as we have something confirmed in regards to any potential player acquisitions we will be sure to alert everyone.”
Keane, who is also attracting interest from Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Leicester City, has fallen down the pecking order with Spurs and has spent time out on loan with Celtic and West Ham United in the past two seasons.
